New-Zealand college selects a TecSOM flooring

2020, July

What if well-being at school starts there? CITY SQUARE collection shows remarkable performance which reflects TecSOM know-how: a palette allowing a lot of creativity, extreme finesse and exceptional robustness. This range also has one of the best sound insulation rates in its class and provides the ideal acoustic comfort required to work serenely in classrooms.

A wide colour palette
School is a place where children spend a lot of their time. In order to create a warm and friendly space, conducive to learning, the management of the establishment wanted to install a colourful floor covering. This chromatic diversity has also been used to delineate and differentiate areas. As architect Mike Evans of the design group Stapleton Elliott says: "the carpet colours gave us a lot of scope to create spatial identities".

Maximum acoustic comfort
Schools are often very noisy places, especially during playtime and free time activities when children are allowed to speak loud without restraint. However, in addition to interfering with study and concentration, noise causes a myriad of harmful health effects, not only for teachers but also for children, which can result in stress or sleep disorders, among others.

Installing a suitable flooring like carpeting is a clever and effective acoustic solution. Absorption capacity of City Square collection reaches 27 dB.
