Ron Arad is a British designer born in 1951, a graduate from the Arts Academy of Jerusalem and from the Association of the London Architects. He begun his career creating furniture with metallic tubes which he called "one-offs" because they are unique pieces. It is also the name of his first agency. He became famous with the armchair Rover (1981) and the Well-Tempered Chair (1986), the shelf Bookworm (1993) made up at first of plastic and then steel, edited by Kartell. his experiments with steel, aluminum, polyamide and nest of bee as well as the very personal way he rethinks furniture place Ron Arad in the front row of the contemporary designers. He signed many creations for Vitra, Moroso, Fiam, i Guzzini, Driade, Alessi, Cappellini, Cassina et Magis. In 2008, the Pompidou Center has shown a retrospective of his major creations called "No Discipline".
