Karim Rashid is a Canadian industrial designer born in 1960 and graduated from Ottawa University, with international fame, also writer. He collaborated with KAN Industrial Designers and cofounded and developed the collection Babel Fashion. He opened his own studio in New York in 1993. He designed numerous products, tableware articles and furniture for big brands such as Nambé, Umbra, Idea, Issey Miyake, Pure Design, Zeritalia, Fasem, Guzzini, Tommy Hilfiger, Sony, Leonardo, Zanotta, Citybank or Totem... Creative and prolific, he conceived more than 3000 projects and received more than 300 prizes and prestigious rewards as Red Dot Design Award, Chicago Athénium Good Design Award, I.D. Magazine Annual Design Review, the IDSA Award … Karim Rashid's creations appear in the permanent collections of more than twenty museums worldwide.
